Which Card Should I Use if I Only Had to Choose One?

Ideally, if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you want to book with that one and you would want to book a hotel and car rental. You get 10 points/$1 if you book a hotel or car rental and 5 points/$1 for airfare. Most of the other cards only give you 5x/$1 overall through the portal and some give you nothing extra. Be sure to check your cards to see which one earns the most for you.

How to Activate the Chase Travel Promotion to Get the Extra 5,000 or 8,000 Points?

You need to go to this website and activate the promotion. I activated all 5 of my Chase cards. Although, I’m probably only going to use one of them since I usually book directly with hotels and airlines. Since I’ve booked a trip with my Chase Sapphire Reserve last year, I’m not eligible to receive the extra 2,000 points on that card. But I know I didn’t book using any of my other credit cards so I’m probably going to book with one of those.

It says in the fine print that the Chase Travel promotion only applies to people that received marketing communications through this offer. I’m pretty sure I didn’t received any communication from Chase but I still applied and it worked! I literally found this promotion while I was scrolling through the Chase Travel website.

Conclusion

If you are planning a trip soon and aren’t really in need or in a hurry to renew your elite status with an airline, hotel, or car rental, this is a great promotion to get some extra Chase Ultimate Reward Points. I will most likely be booking a hotel and a car rental to some place easy like Las Vegas or Palm Springs since these are the usual places I would go anyways and are relatively cheap. Hopefully, this helps you out on your points and travel journey!
