Is it Cheaper to Buy Bottega Veneta in Hawaii?

Yes, it is definitely cheaper to buy Bottega Veneta in Hawaii than in the mainland U.S. I am actually shocked at how much you can save. The sales associate told me it would be around 15%-20% but after doing some calculations myself, some items went well above the 20% discount which is truly amazing. On top, you get to pay the lower Hawaii tax rate too (assuming you come from a place where sales tax is more than 4.5%).

 

What is the Sales Tax in Hawaii?

Currently, the sales tax in Honolulu is 4.5%. This is as least half of the tax that I would have to spend back in Los Angeles (9.5%) so it’s already a win for me. If you live in Portland or another place that does not have a sales tax, you can always ship the item to your address and they will honor the 0% sales tax. Be aware though that a shipping fee may apply.

 

Bottega Veneta Hawaii Customer Service

My previous trip must have blessed me with really great sales associates. In addition to Bottega Veneta, I also visited Celine and Bulgari on the same trip and their service was great too. My sales associate at Bottega Veneta was super sweet and let me try on whatever bags I wanted. I feel like those types of SAs are few and far between. I’ve come across a lot of SAs that seem to only want to help you if you have a specific item in mind. Luckily, that wasn’t the case for Bottega Veneta.
