Bellagio Buffet with myVEGAS Rewards

It must have been at least a decade since I’ve been to the Bellagio Buffet. So, when I recently saw on the myVEGAS game that there was a 2-for-1 reward deal for the Bellagio Buffet, I thought I would try to score one. I was unsuccessful all week since it sells out pretty fast, but on our last day in Vegas, I was just randomly browsing and saw that there were three left so I snagged one real quick. I felt like I won the freaking lottery! I got my reward that morning and then redeemed it that same day for their lunch buffet. Also, if you don’t know about the myVEGAS game, make sure you read this first!

All my friends know I can eat a lot so I love going to buffets. I’ve been to Bacchanal (Caesars), Wicked Spoon (Cosmopolitan), Wynn, MGM Grand, and of course Bellagio. Granted, I’ve stuck mostly to the first three the past couple of years as I’ve gotten older, but when I saw the 2-for-1 reward, I thought why not? I couldn’t remember anything about the Bellagio Buffet but the Bellagio is a high-end hotel so their buffet should be high-end too, right? Wrong. I’ll explain further below.

HOW TO REDEEM YOUR MYVEGAS REWARDS

As with most of your rewards, you will have to visit a Mlife Desk with your Mlife Membership Players Card to redeem your reward. They will load it onto your player’s card and then you will give your player’s card to the cashier at the buffet. The cashier will ring up one comped buffet and then will charge you separately for the paid buffet. Also, for people that don’t know, you can room charge this to any MGM hotel as well. For example, we were staying at the Park MGM, but the buffet was at the Bellagio. They allowed us to charge our buffet to our room at the Park MGM.

COST OF THE BELLAGIO BUFFET

We went on a Wednesday so the cost for the breakfast/lunch buffet was $41.99/person (Monday-Thursday). The reward is only valid Monday-Thursday, but if you were curious, Friday-Sunday is $49.99/person. The buffet is currently only running during the day from 7:00 am-3:00 pm. There is no dinner buffet at the current time of this post. As a reminder, please remember to tip on the full cost of the meal instead of what you paid for. So, technically our meal was ~$84 so we tipped based on that amount.

MYVEGAS REWARDS REFRESH TIMES

As I mentioned above, it was just by luck that I happened to get this deal. We were already in Vegas and I had already lost hope of getting this reward. On our last day, I randomly was checking what other rewards I could redeem and to my surprise, there it was! Three 2-for-1 Bellagio Buffet rewards were left so I quickly bought one. I also checked the MGM Buffet rewards and there was availability for that too! The time I checked was on a Wednesday at exactly 10:57 am PST. Please keep in mind that the refresh times do vary every day. I’ve seen the rewards refresh at 4:00 pm PST once.

IS THE BELLAGIO BUFFET WORTH IT?

I had to really think about this one. If we didn’t have the 2-for-1 myVEGAS Reward deal, I would say that this buffet is definitely not worth it. Even with our 2-for-1 deal, I was trying hard to think of the food that we got was worth the $21-ish per person. You had your typical meat station with prime rib, steaks, and ribs, but there were no crab legs. For $41.99/person, you would think they would have at least crab legs!

Everything else was just your standard buffet food. They’ve combined the breakfast and lunch buffet together so there are breakfast options if you prefer to eat that. I think the most disappointing thing was the desserts. All of it was bad. I’m not referring so much to the taste but to the quality of the dessert. It’s like they’ve been sitting out all day or they used the leftovers from yesterday. I say that because every tart that I ate, the crust wasn’t the crispy crumbly crust you usually get. Instead, it was soft and soggy. The same with the cookies and I was looking forward to that the most.

Lastly, if you are looking for a beautiful updated modern buffet like Bacchanal, Wicked Spoon, or the Buffet at Wynn, you’re not going to find it here. As a matter of fact, I don’t know if they have ever renovated this space. Everything looks dark, yellow, and old. I’m sure it looked super fancy when it first came out but now it just looks like it’s way past its prime.
