For the fourth installment of my luxury shopping guide, we’re going to visit the Gucci Hawaii Waikiki store on Luxury Row. The Gucci stores in Hawaii will probably be your next best bet on saving money right after the Gucci Outlet. If you haven’t had a chance to learn about the Gucci Outlet, I made a full blog post about it here. Otherwise, if you are visiting Hawaii and are looking for the newest Gucci purse or wallet, then you are in luck. The Gucci Hawaii discount is probably one of the best deals on luxury goods that I’ve ever seen. Depending on what item you buy, you can save up from a couple hundred to over a thousand dollars. Also, a fun fact is that this store’s location is the third biggest Gucci store in the world. That means their selection is huge and you have a better chance that your item is consistently in stock.

IS IT REALLY 20-25% OFF?

After doing some quick calculations (see below), I’ve concluded that everything I looked at was priced exactly around 20-25%. I’ve found that this store has more variety in colors than they have online. For example, I was trying to find the Gucci Jackie 1961 Medium Tote Bag in the color wild rose online, but it wasn’t listed there. Same thing for the Gucci Sylvie 1969 Small Top Handle Bag. I found the white version in the store, but it wasn’t listed online. Also, just a reminder, this is NOT a Gucci Outlet. This is a real Gucci store with the newest season’s merchandise so you can shop as you would regularly except you get the Hawaii discount benefit.

UPDATE 7/10/21: Big news everyone! A reader has just informed me that Gucci is changing their discount from 20%-25% off to only 10% off starting 7/14/2021! This is very interesting since another reader let me know last week that Saint Laurent recently did something similar. Saint Laurent changed from 20% off to now only 10% off starting on 7/1/2021. This is crazy, right?! Not sure what’s happening but you have until 7/13/2021 to get as many Gucci goods as possible at the current 20%-25% discount. Hurry!

 

SERVICE AT GUCCI HAWAII (WAIKIKI – LUXURY ROW)

After visiting this store a few times, I can confidently say this store has the best sales associates! The time I went two years ago, I had a female sales associate that was absolutely the most patient woman in the world. I knew I wanted to buy the Gucci Marmont bag, but couldn’t decide between the “small” and the “mini.” Don’t ask me why they’re called those sizes. The small is more like a medium to me, but that’s my opinion. Since I’m fairly petite, I thought I would for sure go with the mini, but after an hour of looking at the mirror and switching purses back-and-forth, I decided to go for the small. I felt bad for her since I couldn’t decide for the longest time, but she was happy the whole time and didn’t rush me at all.

For this most recent trip, another female sales associate helped my friend and me out. Her name was Yumiko Worthy. She was the sweetest thing ever and made us feel so comfortable shopping there. If I had a bunch of money, I would definitely buy all my stuff from her. She was very knowledgeable about all the products and was more than happy to show you anything you wanted to see. She insisted that we try everything on and go look in the mirror. This was a stark contrast to my experience at Louis Vuitton. I sadly didn’t end up buying anything, but my friend did. He bought his sister the Gucci Soho Small Leather Disco Bag in rose beige. In the end, she pulled out her phone and offered us her digital business card. That’s right! Gucci sales associates have digital business cards so all you have to do is take a picture and it’ll be stored in your phone forever.
